Set to release next Tuesday, February 23rd, the upcoming album from The Rocket Summer titled “Of Men and Angels” is able to be heard in its entirety on their Myspace found
here. This album created by Bryce Avary shows a maturity and talent gained in him, that outdoes everything previously shown in “Do You Feel” or “Hello, Good Friend”. Listen to it before anyone else, and give him credit for coming out with the most remarkable work The Rocket Summer has released since his first EP back in 2000.

since we brought this music site to life. Happy one year to us and happy 15th birthday to my best friend Nate. We’d like to thank everyone who helped out throughout the year. Every band who has ever asked for an interview, and all of the musicians who have helped out with promotion and chose not to ignore and overlook us because of our young age. Warped Tour is going to be amazing, and we want to meet you all. We love you!

A few nights ago I had the opportunity to watch the Heavy and Light show that was put on by a really amazing organization called To Write Love On Her Arms.
For those of you who don’t know what that is you should check it out on the banner below. Or you can watch the video below. “To Write Love On Her Arms is about cutting, and its about depression, and addiction, and suicide, and its about meeting those needs, and its about talking about things that haven’t been discussed, and saying that people are not alone, and that we’re called to live together, and that we’re called to love each other and that we have something to say about pain, and there’s hope for people…It is about pain, and its about failure, and regret and brokenness, and it is about broken people…and it is about hope more than anything else.” -Jamie Tworkowski (founder of TWLOHA).

“May I have all your eyes and ears to the front of the room?” –The Academy Is…
At the beginning of every month, we decided that we’re going to have a Featured Artist of The Month section on the site, for all to see, in all of its glory. This month, it’s a four-piecer called Callahan. They have serious potential and I think know they’ll be going places. I’m still trying to figure out how every artist will be decided, but we’ll work on that. Maybe you could leave comments on our main myspace found here. We’re also trying to change the layout on this page, and have a feature where you could rate artists and do other things. It’s been almost five months since I did live interviews with Breathe Electric, TK Proposal, and Grand Finale. Somehow, my abilities to procrastinate haven’t decreased, and I still haven’t posted them. I should really begin to do that. The Eyes Set To Kill interview is still being written, and it should be up sometime this week. So that’s today’s update. Oh, oh, and check out Callahan, I think they’re on to something catchy, ;-)
