An indie music blog. A music website that promotes musicians and bands that are both indie and major giving them a chance to have their music heard, while also blogging about everything related to music in general. The site is managed by 15 year-old Jennnn and has a few helpful others. Originally created in an apartment building in the middle of San Francisco less than a year ago, we’re now based in the Chicago/Milwaukee area. If you’re in a band, email us at stationstatic@ymail.com. If you have a good band you know, message us and we’ll cover them. We have a banner (found here) you can put on your page if you’d like. Influences include Jack’s Mannequin’s Andrew McMahon, and that “CHH!” noise Cesar Millan makes.

What in the world is Station Static?
Station Static is basically a giant blog, used to promote, write about, and chat about bands and musicians (signed, and unsigned) and the music lifestyle which we admire so much.

Who runs this whole shindig ?
This site is managed by Jennnn, but there are also some rad people writing and helping run this site.

What does Station Static mean ?
Look up Anti-Flag lyrics to the song ”We Are The Lost.”

I’m an artist and want to be featured here, what should I do ?

DUDE, you interviewed us months ago. What happened?
Don’t worry! We haven’t forgotten about you. It takes a while to post an interview. Online interviews have to be edited, checked, and checked again. Those are the ones posted sooner than live video interviews because live videos have to be edited, and usually start off around 20 minutes long then are condensed to about six minutes. We do several interviews a week, sometimes several a day, and there are only two of us working on it…that, and Jennnn holds everything off for months at a time.

Can you write something for me?
Sure. We do biographies for all artists. You just need to send us a bunch of information about yourselves, and what you want us to include in there. All we ask is for credit at the bottom of it, and blog about us. That, or our (still to be made) banner somewhere on your page. You can see our past written about me section for a band called One For the Angels found here.

I think I want to write on this site.
Sweet. Email us. We need people who are actually committed to this. Sure one post is cool, but we need regular writers who can write about musicians with a passion and actually care about the music. I want people who don’t want to join just to meet the bands, you need to live, breathe, scream music. Send me a paragraph of something you’ve written about a band, and if it’s what we think we’d like on the site, we’ll probably say yes. No, you don’t get paid, ha, I wish. It doesn’t even take up a lot of time, just maybe a post every few days.
