A few nights ago I had the opportunity to watch the Heavy and Light show that was put on by a really amazing organization called To Write Love On Her Arms. For those of you who don’t know what that is you should check it out on the banner below. Or you can watch the video below. “To Write Love On Her Arms is about cutting, and its about depression, and addiction, and suicide, and its about meeting those needs, and its about talking about things that haven’t been discussed, and saying that people are not alone, and that we’re called to live together, and that we’re called to love each other and that we have something to say about pain, and there’s hope for people…It is about pain, and its about failure, and regret and brokenness, and it is about broken people…and it is about hope more than anything else.” -Jamie Tworkowski (founder of TWLOHA).

TWLOHA is a non-profit movement dedicated to finding help, and providing hope, for people struggling with addiction, and depression. To Write Love On Her Arms, has provided hope for so many people, myself included. Most of the time when I go to a show, for about two hours I am able to lose all of my problems and pain. But, after Heavy & Light I couldn’t say that. It forced me to think about my pain, and it forced me to understand that I am not the only person that hurts, I am not the only one with questions, and that I am not alone.
