The Compromising

Of Integrity, Morality, & Principles in Exchange For Money Tour was awesome, and I met a lot of great people and musicians, but I got a little upset at the end. Here’s a run down on my night in Milwaukee. We showed up, watched from the balcony, and it was an incredible view. It’s amazing how far people will go in order to get to the front of the pit. As we shuffled out, I met The Morning Light (and oh my, this makes up for them not playing Warped). I also met Josh from Every Avenue near the merch. We went outside, (holy crap it was freaking cold) and there we find a giant (unbelievably huge) mob of teenage girls crowding around Jack Barakat and John O’Callaghan. I have never had to wait in line to meet musicians. The reason I’m posting this is because the entire time I was getting pushed by random kids in line to meet them, I was wondering where these girls were missing when the AP Tour came around. When a friend and I were at the AP Tour with All Time Low, Bryce Avary, The Matches, and Sonny, there were only around six other fans waiting outside with us. At the Money Tour, a girl behind me asked if he (Alex Gaskarth) was the lead singer. I was in horror, and I just wondered if this was really what it turned into. “Fans” waiting to meet members that they didn’t even know. I was so hurt inside when I saw Jack leave the
mob and enter the bus. We all knew he wasn’t coming back. I saw that the mob was only crowding around the frontmen and headliners. Alex, John, Rian, and Zack were the only one’s with a crowd of fans following them. I walked away from the crowd and met other members, such as Derek Sanders (Mayday), Pat Kirch (The Maine), and David Strauchman (Every Avenue). It kinda bugs me when the people at The Rave tell people to move to the sidewalks. A security guard told David and I to go All The Way Down (if you know Every Avenue songs, you’ll see the irony). I met Alex (ATL), and since he already had a sharpie in hand, I asked him to sign mine with his. Alex: “That’s new. No one’s ever asked me to do that before.” haha. So I guess the night was still awesome, despite having people who only know the words to Maria get to meet people they didn’t actually admire for music. I met some fans that were also in a daze of confusion as to why some of these girls weren’t there at the AP Tour. My favorite quote of the night?

“WOW MTV. WAY TO GO. THANKS FOR RUINING MY FAVORITE BAND.”

Can you do an article about Blink 182 maybe? I don’t know if you like them but I’m just requesting. Maybe about them getting back together. Oh wait a second this site is only for local or rising bands?
